We started Local Happenings because we were tired of scrolling through big event sites that show the same major attractions and permanent exhibitions. We wanted to find the real local stuff — the school fete around the corner, the sausage sizzle at the park, the family fun day at the community centre.

Our system automatically scans community groups, council pages, and event sites to find family-friendly happenings across Melbourne.
We filter
We use smart filtering to keep only the genuinely local, community and family-friendly events — no big commercial events, no nightlife, no permanent attractions.
