This toddler and pre-school art playgroup runs in the outdoor back kids area of Little Gecko Coffee Roasters in Newport, for kids aged 1-5 with younger siblings welcome and free. Several activities run at once so kids can move between them, including drawing and stamping, painting on butchers paper, loose parts play, colouring sheets on clipboards, an easel and window crayons on a mirror. The focus is on learning to love art rather than making a finished piece, and you don't have to clean up afterwards. Dress for painting, bring an art smock if you have one, and book ahead as sessions can sell out, with walk-ins fine if there is space.
